Burn the Light [Part Two of Two]

"Anthony, this is nice." Jenny said wrapped in his arms, her head resting on his chest. "I haven't had this kind of companionship in...Geeze, I can't even remember."
"I'm glad to give you such companionship, Jenny." Anthony said.
"You know, it's funny." She began. "Up until four hours ago I thought I was going to be alone forever, faking a smile. You know, cheering other people's lives up, but having no one to cheer mine up." She said. Anthony breathed in the scent of her hair, it made his mouth water. "Did you ever feel the same way?"
"Honestly, no." Anthony said, she sat up to face him. "I reside with my father across the way, he has been my keeper since the beginning of my life, he has always been there for me."
"It must be nice having someone to care about you unconditionally." Jenny said.
"It is, even though sometimes I feel as though I should move on. That I should find someone new." Anthony said.
"Well, I'm here." Jenny said giggling.
Anthony laughed. Jenny leaned in and kissed him on the lips.
"Anthony?" She asked. "Can you stay and watch the sunrise with me? It's in about a half of an hour." Anthony shot to his feet.
"No, no!" He was almost shouting. "I apologize but I am late for an engagement. It completely slipped my mind."
"It's okay." She said hiding her hurt. "Will you be back later?"
"Yes." He said. Then he walked over to her and sat down next to her. She leaned in and kissed him again.
"See you soon, Anthony." She said as he headed towards the door.
"Good night, Jenny."

As Anthony walked through the corridors of his building, past all the strung up humans, hanging on chains, he started whistling. Cannon in D, some of you might know it as 'the wedding song'. Regardless, Anthony strolled down the rows and rows of humans, toying with them as he saw fit. He selected one and pulled him off of the giant meat hook. The young man screamed, Anthony set him down on the floor. The man pleaded with incoherent words, mumbled together in sobs and gasps.
"Puh, puh, puh...Please!" The man pleaded. Anthony grasped the man's wrist and drug him across the floor, the heavy body slowing his jolly march. Anthony reached the old kitchen [the place used to be an old assembly line, complete with kitchen and showering facility] and lifted the pleading man onto one of the many dusty tables.
"Duh, duh, duh...Don't!" The man screamed. Anthony paid no attention and quickly bit down hard on the man's neck. This is the only time a vampire can feel his own heart beat, when he sucks the life from another creature. The thunderous drumming pounded in his ears, a sensation that never wore thin.
As the man's hold on Anthony grew weaker Anthony knew it was time to end the drinking so he broke free of the pleasuring sensation. He relished in the blood and the firing of his nerves for a few moments then regained his sense of reality. He looked down at the man, still alive, whimpering and shaking uncontrollably, his face white, his lips purple. Anthony placed each hand on the man's cheeks and with an action too fast to see, broke the man's neck. Anthony then took the body to the showering facility and placed him in the center of the community shower. He walked towards another door and flipped a switch, a clear liquid came rushing out of the many shower heads. Within seconds the man's body had completely dissolved into nothing.
Anthony cheerfully walked into the cellar where he found his father, lying beside his coffin waiting.
"Son." His father said. "You were playing a deadly game staying out so late."
"Father, there is nothing for you to worry yourself over. You see, I am here and still much alive as ever."
"If you call this existence 'alive'". His father said mournfully.
"Father, don't worry." Anthony reassured his father. "Nothing bad will come of this."
"And if some bad should come?" He asked.
"Then I will deal with it."
"Rightfully so." His father said. "And Anthony, that girl will be taken from the home today, mid day. Will you be fine with that?" His father asked.
"Why have you only waited until now to tell me this, Father!?" Anthony shouted.
"The vision has only just come to me, Son." He said. Anthony started pacing back and forth.
"Why is she to be taken away?" He asked.
"Your presence upset her, she has become aware of all she has been without and is now hurting herself, she believes you will never return." He said.
"Why does she think such an absurd thing!?" Anthony shouted.
"It was in your manner of leaving, all of a sudden, without warning. It reminded her of when her father left. He never returned."
"Father, what should I do?" Anthony asked frantically.
"Do what ever it may be tat you will be most happy with. If risking your own destruction is worth being with a human, who you might one day bring into our family--or remain alone with--is worth it, then by all means go for it. But if staying here, with all the food you will ever need, and a companion who will never leave you is more important, then stay beside me." His father said.
"Father, how much time do I have?" Anthony said disregarding his father's wishes for him to stay.
"You have three hours, my son." He said. Anthony ran from the cellar. He ran through the corridors and to the front door. He kicked it open and stood just beyond the rays of light shinning in on the floor. His breathing became unsteady as he stood so close to the edge. One foolish step would surely lead to his fiery death.
"Son." His father's cold hand was on his shoulder. "Never have I heard of a tale where a vampire has risked his own existence for a human by rushing to save her in broad daylight. The odds are against you."
"I am aware of that, Father." He said. "But she makes me happy. A different kind of happy than I could find here, with you."
"I take no offense in that statement, son. But is that happiness worth it?"
"I think it might be." Anthony said inches away from the harsh rays of the sun.
"The grass isn't always greener on the other side, Anthony."
"How will I ever know if I never venture to find out?"
"That is the true nature of love, my son. There is no logic in it, it just works, and never in the perfect sort of way, but in a way all it's own." His father turned him. "I am very proud to have been with you so long, but now you must go."
"I am afraid." Anthony said.
"So am I." He said. "I know it is pointless for me to say this, but once you step out there, you are completely on your own."
"I am well aware of that." Anthony said. "But I think I can make it."
Just then a white van parked in front of the halfway house.
"It is happening sooner than I predicted." His father said astonished. Then four armored men ran from the van and rushed into the building.
"This had to happen during the day, didn't it?" Anthony asked, his tone playful.
"Yes, I believe so." His father chuckled.
"I hate the sun, I wish I could burn the light, darkness for always." Anthony said. "I bid you adieu, Father."
"It was a pleasure, Son."

With that Anthony sprinted through the open door, his skin heating up instantly. He screamed and within three steps was completely ablaze. He kept his pace as steady as he could, he could feel his flesh burning into nothing. He sprinted faster, trying to block out the pain. Nothing made sense now, all he could concentrate on was the pain, that bright orange shooting up from his limps. His eyes were closed but he must have felt close enough because he dove for the halfway house. When he hit the ground he tumbled and smashed through the wooden front doors. He looked around for any humans, he was still on fire, they looked at him panic in their eyes.
The old woman rushed to him, he grabbed her around the neck and pulled her to his black charred mouth. His fangs extended and sank into her jugular. As he drank the burns went away, the color slowly came back to certain areas of his body. Two men ran t aid the old woman, as they neared Anthony threw her to the ground and rolled to his feet, smothering some, but not all, of the flames. He grabbed one of the men and started drinking his blood, bringing the man inches away from death. Then again to the other. He stood there, in the open doorway, covered in blood and surrounded by three dead bodies with nothing more than a sun burn. He walked over each of them and crushed their chests, then made his way upstairs to find Jenny.
He rushed up the stairs and found her fighting the four armored men as they carried her down the hallway. He ran up to one and smashed his face into the wall beside them, leaving nothing more than pieces of bone and armor, covered in blood. Then to another he sliced his head off with his long, diamond strong nails. Blood shot out like a kung-fu movie. The two carrying Jenny looked at Anthony, petrified.
"You came back." She smiled.
Then one of the guards moved to pacify Anthony. He extended his arm, which Anthony shattered then he wrapped his hands around the guard's mask, and broke his neck.
"Let the girl go." Anthony said to the last remaining guard. He did and ran off, frightened.
"Thank you so much, Anthony!" She said as they embraced. "I was so afraid you wouldn't come back, that I was just some one-night-stand."
"No, you could never be that, Jenny." He said as she looked up, into his eyes. They kissed and went into her room.
"Now show me that strength you've been hiding." She said giggling.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Oh, yeah." She said. "I haven't been fucked in months!"
They laughed.
