Nightmare Stare [Chapter Eighteen]

"Audrey, what the fuck did you do!?" I screamed rushing to the angel. I lift her cold lifeless body and craddle her in my arms, tears are forming in my eyes.
"She isn't meant to be kept as some trophy, Victor!" Audrey screams slamming the bat agaisnt the hard concrete floor. "Just let her rot and die!"
"You shut your mouth, cunt!" I screamed, anger controlling me. Audrey slammed the baseball bat against the ground again.
"She's dead! Just let her stay that way!" She screamed. I could smell the death rising from the angel's cold green skin.
"Leave." I said coldly. I could feel Audrey looking at me, but I kept my eyes fixed on the angel.
"Wha...what!?" She asked.
"You heard me." I said raising my face to look her in the eyes. "Leave." Audrey stood there in shock for a while, then she threw the bat across the floor. It smacked hard against the metal door of the garage and she screamed as she stommped to the door. She opened the door into my house and turned back.
"You know what?" She said with the door open, one of her legs on the tile floor inside the house. "I hope you fucking die-!" Then she was gone.
A tenticle, made of tree bark that looked dead skin wrapped around her neck and torn her from where she was standing. I watched her slam against the corner of the hallway, her head jerking so hard I heard a snap. Then I watched as she slammed against the ground, her insides spewing from her nose as she was pulled down the hallway and out of my sight. Then the door slammed shut.
"Oh, no." I thought to myself.
This was all happening sooner than it should be.
I picked up the angel and opened the door into the house. I ran down the hallway towards the bathroom. As I looked down the hallway I could see that the door into The Forest of Lost Souls, all the mourning faces marching towards me. I decided the tile floor of my house should protect me and so they did. The tiles in front of the doorway into The Forest of Lost Souls folded up and wrapped around each other like fingers. It wouldn't last long, but it would last long enough. I opened the door to the hall bathroom and set the angel on the floor.
I turned the water in the tub on and plugged the drain. The water was filling fast. I looked outside the bathroom and saw more tenticles digging their way through the sides of my tile barracade. I turned back inside and saw the tub was full and overflowing. I watched as the water foamed, I lifted the angel in my arms and thought of the only place I could send her to keep her safe. The bridge where I first saw her. Just as I saw the sky from our first encounter in my mind's eye I felt a tenticle wrap tightly around my left ankle. It yanked me, and I slammed face onto tile, I broke my jaw...some more. As I looked up to the tub the angel was splashing in. I fought with all of my strength to resist the tenticle, holding myself against the frame of the doorway with my arms and legs. I reached out with one hand towards the tub. My arm extended and splashed into the water after her.
I saw from my hand's point of view, there was a river below me. I looked for the angel, finding her quickly drifting down the river. I shot down after her plucking her from the cold lifesucking waters, as I lifted her back into the sky I beheld a bridge and a man walking across it. I set her down in front of him, and said,
"Keep her safe." Just as soon as the words left my mouth [I'm not even sure that they did] was I being pulled into The Forset of Lost Souls. I was slammed into the door leading to my room, shattering it as it and my head collided. Then I was thrown across the hallway into Molly's old room, my chest breaking through the door. I hit the corpse infested ground hard, and was pulled into the hallway with such frightening speed that I didn't notice I was spinning through the sky of The Forest of Lost Souls until I opened my eyes.
I saw all things at once, the sky and the ground. They were spinning and blending into each other, the whole relm looked like one big dark nightmare. I felt explosions in the sky before I saw them change the darkness of the sky. I was spinning through the sky for a long time before crashing into the ground. I skidded and bounced against the screaming grass, the speed of my throw caused me to tumble for a long time. After what felt like an enternity, I stopped. My body screamed in agony, but I managed to lift myself to my feet.
As I looked up I watched as The Tree sprints towards me. Its coming to kill me.
I crack my jaw back into place and getting ready to fight.
