The Seventh Bowl: Chapter Five

Mission Log: The Takeover of Ensville.
"The initial takeover went quite well, the human response time was sluggish and pathetic. Far too many of them gave up their life's without any sort of struggle; weak flesh bags.
Once the human army met ours, a change took place. They were now able to muster up enough courage to fight. Their strategies were sophomoric, childish. They met our attacks with their own; cannon blasts, machine gun discharges, grenade explosions, etc. The only respect I've gained for the human race is their willingness to die, and which so many did.
We took prisoners, an idea I find wrong - but I do understand that in times of war, it is necessary to take prisoners. I did come across knowledge that a branch of our army has been taking human prisoners and using them as a power supply. They crucify them and suck the pain right out of them, using it to power the war machines. Giant bipeds with turrets for arms, legs strong enough to crush buildings.
It is my understanding that we can extract the pain from the humans, in liquid form, and use it to power our war machines. The humans call them endorphins, the chemical that suppresses pain. We take the endorphins and use them as batteries. I find it disgusting - using humans to power ourselves, it makes us a parasite. It makes us, The Machine, inferior to them, The Human.
We swept through Ensville, killing, destroying, expanding up through the city. The humans gave us little challenge in Ensville, perhaps the rest of them have gotten word of their fallen brothers and will put up more of a fight?
Regardless, they are weak and disgusting. Soon there will be none left, and what then, will become of us? With no more enemies what life does a battle droid, such as myself have? As much as it pains me to admit it, I find myself in need of the humans, in need of an enemy to pursue. That is why I developed camps to take humans to, to breed them, as to not lose my purpose.
The process will be slow and time consuming, nine months just to create a new human, then years before they are any sort of challenge.
The whole idea aggravates me, an addiction, something I need to survive.
With Ensville in ruins the next place for conquest is Skelter City, a horrible place. The humans celebrate a Bicentennial in that city, a perfect time to demolish it."
End of Mission Log.
