I first heard about the Cthulhu a few weeks ago, when I was watching a video showing in game footage of the game Scribblenauts. They had God with a shotgun going up against the Cthulhu, they both killed ended up killing each other. Then a few weeks later I was browsing through Borders and came across [while looking through the zombie and vampire sections] H.P. Lovecraft's The Call of the Cthulhu. I read the first couple of paragraphs and was completely engrossed. Now I kind of feel bad about getting Slaughter House Five instead, but I'm told that is one of the greatest books ever written, so I don't feel as bad. I will however, be buying [once I have money to spend on myself] The Call of Cthulhu as well as Zombie Haiku.
For those of you like me, who hadn't grown up knowing what the hell a Cthulhu was I have two pictures of what people believe it would look like.
It is supposed to be a giant humanoid with tentacles coming out of it's face and with massive wings coming from it's back. Now this thing is supposed to be the size of a mountain. I've heard that the Cthulhu is supposed to be either mentioned or a big part of Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters. Also, I should think the Kraken would be in there too.
